Los científicos y tecnólogos especializados en alimentos utilizan la química, microbiología, ingeniería y otras ciencias para estudiar los principios básicos del procesamiento y la deterioración de los alimentos. Analizan el contenido de los alimentos para determinar los niveles de vitaminas, grasas, azúcares y proteínas, descubren nuevas fuentes de alimentos e investigan métodos para hacer que los alimentos procesados sean seguros, agradables al paladar y saludables. Aplican conocimientos científicos para determinar los mejores métodos de procesamiento, envasado, preservación, almacenamiento y distribución de alimentos.
Tareas Típicas del Puesto:
Inspección y cumplimiento: Inspeccionan las áreas de procesamiento de alimentos para garantizar el cumplimiento de las regulaciones y normas gubernamentales de saneamiento, seguridad, calidad y gestión de desechos.
